Hong Kong (SAR China) to Estonia visa requirements

Hong Kong (HKSAR) ordinary passport holders can travel to Estonia visa-free for tourism for up to 90 days within any 180-day period, as Estonia is part of the Schengen Area. No visa is needed before travel. From late 2026, an approved ETIAS travel authorisation (online, low-cost) will become mandatory before entry, though it is not a visa. Estonia is a member of the Schengen Area, and holders of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) ordinary passport enjoy visa-free entry to all Schengen states for short stays. The permitted stay is a maximum of 90 days within any rolling 180-day period, covering tourism, business and family visits. This is confirmed by the Hong Kong Immigration Department's official visa-free access list. No visa application or pre-registration is required as of 30 May 2026. Travelers must carry a passport valid for at least three months beyond the intended departure from the Schengen Area and issued within the previous 10 years, and may be asked at the border to show proof of onward/return travel, sufficient funds, accommodation and travel medical insurance. The 90-day allowance is shared across ALL Schengen countries combined, not per country. A significant change is on the horizon: the European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) is scheduled to launch in the last quarter of 2026 (expected around October/November 2026), followed by a transitional grace period into 2027. Once ETIAS is operational and mandatory, HKSAR passport holders will need to obtain an approved ETIAS authorisation online before traveling. ETIAS is a visa-waiver pre-screening, not a visa, and it does not change Hong Kong's visa-free status. As of the verification date, ETIAS is not yet required, so the current verdict for a short tourist trip is visa-free.
