Hong Kong (SAR China) to Argentina visa requirements

No visa required. HKSAR ordinary passport holders may enter Argentina visa-free for tourism and stay up to 90 days, under a bilateral visa-waiver arrangement in force since 2004. Holders of a Hong Kong SAR (HKSAR) ordinary passport do NOT need a visa for tourism or short visits to Argentina. Under a reciprocal visa-waiver agreement signed on 14 January 2004 (Argentina became the 127th country to grant visa-free access to HKSAR passport holders), travelers may enter without a visa and stay up to 90 days per visit. Both the Argentine Consulate General in Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Immigration Department confirm this 90-day visa-free allowance. The stay can be extended once at the Dirección Nacional de Migraciones inside Argentina for a further period. Argentina is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. At the border you should be prepared to show an onward/return ticket, proof of accommodation, proof of sufficient funds, and ideally travel/health insurance, as immigration officers may request these. No fee is charged for visa-free entry. Note: an authoritative consulate source and the HK government both state 90 days; some third-party trackers list 30 days, but the official bilateral agreement and consulate confirm 90 days for HKSAR passports. There are no significant 2024-2026 changes affecting this route.
