Do Hong Kong passport holders need a visa to visit UAE?
Hong Kong SAR ordinary passport holders can visit the UAE visa-free for up to 30 days. No advance application is needed; entry is granted on arrival free of charge. As of 15 May 2025, holders of a Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) ordinary passport enjoy visa-free access to the United Arab Emirates for tourism and short visits of up to 30 days. This upgraded the previous visa-on-arrival arrangement: there is now no fee and no advance application. Travelers simply present a passport valid for at least six months, proof of onward or return travel, and clear immigration on arrival. The 30-day stay can be extended through the UAE's General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) for a fee if needed. This guide reflects the current policy confirmed by both the HKSAR Immigration Department and the UAE Consulate General in Hong Kong.
