United Kingdom to Yemen visa requirements

UK ordinary passport holders need a visa to enter Yemen. There is no visa-free, visa-on-arrival, or eVisa channel. Note that the UK FCDO advises against ALL travel to Yemen due to armed conflict and a very high threat of kidnapping and terrorism. British citizens holding an ordinary passport must obtain a visa before travelling to Yemen for tourism or a short visit. Yemen is not in the Schengen area and operates no visa-waiver, ETA, eVisa, or visa-on-arrival programme for UK nationals. In practice, entry visas require prior approval arranged from inside Yemen (typically via a local sponsor or tour operator), and the Yemen Embassy in London requires in-person applications. A single-entry visa is generally valid for up to two months from issue. The passport must be valid for at least six months beyond arrival and must contain no Israeli entry/exit stamps, or entry will be refused. Travellers staying longer than 14 days must register with Yemeni immigration after arrival. Critically, the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) advises against all travel to Yemen, including the island of Socotra, because of ongoing armed conflict and a very high threat of kidnapping and terrorism; travel insurance is typically void against FCDO advice and consular support inside Yemen is severely limited.
