Do United Kingdom passport holders need a visa to visit Türkiye?

No visa needed. UK ordinary passport holders can visit Türkiye visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180-day period for tourism. British citizens holding an ordinary passport do NOT need a visa or e-Visa to visit Türkiye for tourism or business. You may stay up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period. This exemption is confirmed by both the UK government (GOV.UK travel advice) and the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Your passport must be valid for at least 150 days from your date of arrival and have at least one blank page. Note that this exemption applies ONLY to full "British Citizen" passports — holders of British National (Overseas), British Subject, British Protected Person, or service/special passports are not exempt and must obtain a visa. The previous e-Visa requirement for UK travellers was abolished in March 2020 and remains lifted as of 2026; do not pay third-party sites offering a Türkiye "visa" you do not need.
