United Kingdom to Russian Federation visa requirements

UK ordinary 'British Citizen' passport holders must get a Russian visa before travelling. The Russian unified e-visa is NOT available to British citizens, and there is no visa-on-arrival. Apply for a regular tourist visa in advance through the Russian visa application process and attend in person for biometrics if you are aged 12 or over. Note: the FCDO advises against all travel to Russia. A British Citizen ordinary passport holder needs a visa before travelling to Russia for tourism. Russia operates a unified electronic visa (e-visa), but the official eligible-country list covers 64 foreign states and does not include the United Kingdom, so UK travellers must use a regular visa rather than an e-visa. The Russian MFA regular visa portal is used to complete and print the application form; obtaining the form is only the first step, and applicants must still submit the required documents to the selected diplomatic mission, consular post, or Russian visa application centre. The UK Russia Visa Centre says tourist visas are required for tourism; single- or double-entry tourist visas can be valid for up to 90 days, while multiple-entry tourist visas may be issued for up to 6 months, with validity matching the legal invitation. UK-based applicants aged 12 or over must attend a visa application centre in person to provide fingerprints. Current fee data shows UK tourist visa fees of GBP 70 standard single-entry, GBP 115 standard double-entry, GBP 145 express single-entry, GBP 230 express double-entry, or GBP 215 standard multiple-entry, plus the visa-centre service charge (London: GBP 60.60 standard or GBP 66 urgent) and optional return courier fees. Processing is estimated only and remains at the Russian Embassy or Consulate's discretion: London standard service can take up to 20 business days, Edinburgh standard service 7-10 business days, and urgent service 3-5 or up to 4 business days depending on centre. GOV.UK also notes that passports must expire at least 6 months after the visa expires, some British nationals have been denied entry for unsigned post-January-2017 passports, and foreigners entering through Moscow airports must register biometric details on arrival. The FCDO advises against all travel to Russia and says UK government support in Russia is limited.
