United Kingdom to Mexico visa requirements

No visa required. British citizens can visit Mexico visa-free for tourism for up to 180 days. British citizens holding an ordinary passport do not need a visa to enter Mexico for tourism. You may stay for up to 180 days, with the exact number of days set by the immigration officer on arrival. Air arrivals may receive a passport entry stamp or an e-gate ticket, and tourists can download digital proof of entry and authorized stay from the INM services portal within the first 60 days; if you are issued a paper FMM, keep it until departure. If you arrive by land, you must complete the immigration form online via the INM portal before or at entry. Your passport should be valid for the duration of your stay (the Mexican Embassy recommends at least 180 days of validity). Border officers may ask for proof of onward/return travel, accommodation, and sufficient funds. Travelers to Quintana Roo state (Cancún, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Cozumel) must also pay the separate Visitax tourism tax, shown as MXN 293 per person on the official payment portal checked on 2026-06-20.
