United Kingdom to India visa requirements

British ordinary passport holders need an Indian visa before travel; the e-Tourist Visa is available online. Current UK e-Tourist fees are USD 10/25 for 30 days, USD 40 for 1 year, or USD 484 for 5 years. British ordinary passport holders need a visa to enter India. For tourism, the official Government of India e-Visa portal lists United Kingdom as an eligible nationality and says the only official e-Visa site is indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa. The 30-day e-Tourist Visa costs USD 10 for travel in April-June or USD 25 for July-March; the 1-year e-Tourist Visa costs USD 40; the 5-year e-Tourist Visa for UK nationals costs USD 484. Bank charges of up to 3% are added. The 30-day e-Tourist Visa is valid for 30 days from first arrival and the FAQ says double entry; the 1-year and 5-year e-Tourist Visas are multiple-entry and the maximum stay in India must not exceed 180 days in a calendar year. Apply online at least 4 days before arrival, upload the passport bio page and digital photo, and wait for the ETA before travel; e-Visas are non-extendable and non-convertible. The passport must have at least six months validity at application and two blank pages, and travellers should hold onward/return travel and sufficient funds. Foreigners of Pakistani origin or holding Pakistani passports are not eligible for e-Visa and should apply for a regular visa through an Indian mission. OCI cardholders have a multiple-entry lifelong visa for India, subject to OCI conditions.
