Do United Kingdom passport holders need a visa to visit EE?

UK ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa to visit Estonia for tourism. As an EU/Schengen member, Estonia allows British citizens to stay visa-free for up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period. Estonia is part of the Schengen Area, and the UK has visa-free access for short stays. British (GB) ordinary passport holders can enter Estonia for tourism, family visits, business meetings, events, or short courses without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180-day rolling period. This 90-day allowance is shared across the entire Schengen Area, not Estonia alone. Your passport must have been issued within the last 10 years on the date of arrival and remain valid for at least 3 months after your intended departure from the Schengen Area. Since 12 October 2025, the EU Entry/Exit System (EES) has been rolling out, replacing manual passport stamps with biometric registration (fingerprints and a facial photo) on first entry; registration is free and the digital record lasts 3 years. Separately, ETIAS (the European Travel Information and Authorisation System) is expected to launch in the last quarter of 2026, after which UK travellers will need a pre-approved online authorisation (around EUR 20). As of 31 May 2026, ETIAS is NOT yet live or mandatory, so a valid passport alone is sufficient. Travellers should monitor for the ETIAS launch later in 2026 and apply once the official portal opens. At the border you may be asked to show a return/onward ticket, proof of accommodation, and evidence of sufficient funds.
