Do United Kingdom passport holders need a visa to visit CD?

British citizens need a visa to enter the DRC. As of 2025 an official online eVisa (evisa.gouv.cd) is available for short tourist visits, processed in about 72 hours, with the traditional DRC Embassy (London) visa as an alternative. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory. A UK ordinary passport holder is NOT visa-exempt for the Democratic Republic of the Congo and must obtain a visa before or, via the official eVisa portal, ahead of travel. The DRC launched an official electronic visa system through the Direction Générale de Migration (DGM) at evisa.gouv.cd in early 2025; it allows online application and payment for a short-stay tourist (flying/tourist) visa, typically processed within around 72 hours and valid for short stays (commonly up to 30 days, with shorter 7-day classes also issued). A mandatory VAP/border fee of about USD 90 is payable on arrival in addition to the eVisa fee. Travelers who prefer the conventional route can apply at the DRC Embassy in London, which issues single- and multiple-entry tourist visas (1 to 6 months); GOV.UK advises allowing 2 to 3 weeks for embassy processing, with some applications referred to Kinshasa. In all cases the passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the arrival date with a blank page, and a yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for entry.
