Do France passport holders need a visa to visit Hong Kong?

No visa needed. French ordinary passport holders can enter Hong Kong visa-free for up to 90 days for tourism. French (FR) ordinary passport holders do not need a visa to visit Hong Kong for tourism or short business visits. Under Hong Kong's visa-free arrangement, France is on the 90-day list, so travellers may stay up to 90 days per entry without applying in advance. Hong Kong is a Special Administrative Region of China, not part of the Schengen area, so Schengen/ETIAS rules do not apply when entering Hong Kong. You simply arrive with a passport valid for the duration of your stay (6 months recommended), proof of onward/return travel, and adequate funds. The visa-free permission does not allow paid or unpaid work, business establishment, or study. Note that a separate visa is required for mainland China — Hong Kong visa-free entry does not cover the mainland.
