Do Finland passport holders need a visa to visit ZM?
Finnish (FI) ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for short tourist visits to Zambia. Finland is on Zambia's official visa-exempt list (effective 1 January 2025 under the 53-country waiver), allowing visa-free entry for up to 90 days per 12-month period. As of 31 May 2026, Finland is one of 167 nationalities that can enter Zambia visa-free for tourism. Zambia abolished visas for 53 additional countries via Statutory Instrument No. 78 of 2024, taking effect 1 January 2025; Finland appears as entry #51 on the Zambia Department of Immigration's official "Nationals Who Do Not Require Visa" list. Finnish tourists may stay up to 90 days within any 12-month period (note: the full 90 days may be granted in increments, sometimes 30 days at a time at the discretion of the immigration officer, with extensions available locally). Zambia is in Southern Africa, not the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. No application, fee, or pre-registration is required for the visa-free entry itself. Standard entry conditions still apply: a passport valid at least 6 months with 3 blank pages, proof of onward/return travel and sufficient funds, and a yellow fever certificate if arriving from a country with risk of yellow fever transmission. Travellers also planning to visit Zimbabwe/Botswana can optionally buy the KAZA UniVisa (USD 50) at the border, but it is not required for a Zambia-only tourist visit.
