Do Finland passport holders need a visa to visit China?
Visa-free 30 days for Finnish tourists. China extended unilateral policy through 31 Dec 2026. Finnish passport holders can enter China visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism, business, family visits, or transit. Finland was added to China's unilateral visa-free list on 8 November 2024 as part of the Nordic expansion alongside Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Iceland. China extended the policy through 31 December 2026 (announced August 2025), so Finnish citizens enjoy stable, no-application access. Finnair has long been one of the leading European carriers to China and operates direct flights Helsinki–Beijing/Shanghai/Hong Kong/Nanjing/Chongqing/Xi'an. Travel must be for short-term purposes — work, study, journalism, and stays over 30 days still require a regular visa from the Chinese embassy in Helsinki or CVASC. For longer or other purposes, regular China visa fees are EUR 126 (single entry) or EUR 252 (multi-entry).
