Do Finland passport holders need a visa to visit BT?

Finnish passport holders need an e-Visa to visit Bhutan. Apply online before travel, pay the US$40 visa fee plus the US$100-per-night Sustainable Development Fee (SDF), and receive approval within about 5 working days. Finland is not on Bhutan's visa-exemption list (only Indian nationals are exempt, with restrictions). Every international tourist from Finland must obtain an electronic visa (e-Visa) in advance through Bhutan's official portal at immi.gov.bt or via a licensed tour operator/hotel. The application requires a Pledge of Friendship, an account, travel dates, a passport scan and digital photo. Two government charges apply: a one-off, non-refundable US$40 visa application fee and the Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) of US$100 per person per night, both payable in advance by card or wire transfer. Children 6-12 get a 50% SDF discount; under-5s are exempt. The SDF rate of US$100/night is guaranteed through 31 August 2027. From 1 January 2026 a 5% GST applies to tourism services, but the US$40 visa fee and US$100 SDF are excluded and unchanged. Applications are reviewed within 5 working days; you cannot purchase flights into Bhutan until the visa clearance is issued. The e-Visa is valid for a 90-day stay and the passport must have at least 6 months validity. Air entry is via Paro International Airport; land entry via Phuentsholing, Gelephu or Samdrup Jongkhar.
