Spain to Tajikistan visa requirements
Spanish ordinary passport holders can enter Tajikistan visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism under Tajikistan's unilateral visa-free regime (expanded for EU/Schengen states; in force since 2022 and reaffirmed by the March 2024 government decree). No visa is needed for short visits; an optional e-visa is available if you want to stay longer than 30 days. As of 2026, Spain is on Tajikistan's unilateral visa-free list as an EU/Schengen member state, allowing visa-free entry for tourism or short business for up to 30 days per visit. This was established under the Government Decree of October 2021 (#464) and expanded by Decree #190 of 28 March 2024. Tajikistan is NOT part of the Schengen area, so the EU 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply here. Travelers simply present a passport valid at least 6 months on arrival. If you plan to stay longer than 30 days, you can instead apply for the Tajikistan e-visa ($30 single / $50 multiple entry, up to 60 days within a 90-day window). Two practical caveats: (1) if you stay beyond 10 working days you must register with OVIR (Office of Visas and Registration) within that window; (2) to visit the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO/the Pamirs) you need a separate GBAO permit, which can be added to an e-visa for about $20. For a standard short tourist trip under 30 days outside GBAO, no visa and no advance application is required.
