🇪🇸Spain🇵🇸Palestinian TerritoryES-PS Spain to Palestinian Territory visa requirements
Palestine has no independent visa system; entry to the West Bank is controlled entirely by Israel. As an EU/Spanish passport holder you are visa-exempt for short tourist stays, but since 1 January 2025 you must obtain an approved ETA-IL (Israel's electronic travel authorization) before you travel. A Spanish ordinary passport holder cannot obtain a separate Palestinian visa, because the Palestinian Authority does not control its own borders. Entry to the West Bank (and, in normal times, the question of Gaza) is governed entirely by the visa policy of Israel, since all relevant crossings — Ben Gurion Airport and the Allenby/King Hussein Bridge from Jordan — are under Israeli control. Spanish nationals are on Israel's visa-exempt list and receive a free B2 tourist entry permit (typically up to 90 days) on arrival, usually issued as a printed entry card rather than a passport stamp. However, since 1 January 2025 Israel requires all visa-exempt travelers, including EU/Spanish citizens, to obtain an approved ETA-IL (Electronic Travel Authorization) online before boarding their flight or arriving at a land crossing. The ETA-IL costs 25 NIS, is valid for up to two years (or until passport expiry), permits stays of up to 90 days per visit, and is normally approved within about 72 hours. Travelers entering the West Bank via the Allenby Bridge may receive an entry permit restricted to Palestinian Authority-controlled areas. Note that conditions on the ground in Israel and the Palestinian Territories change rapidly; travelers should check the latest Spanish foreign ministry travel advice and Israeli COGAT/PIBA rules before departure, and Gaza is not accessible to ordinary tourists.
