Spain to Burundi visa requirements

Spanish passport holders need a visa for Burundi. The recommended route is the official online eVisa via Burundi's migration portal (migration.gov.bi). A visa on arrival is also available at Bujumbura airport and land borders, but obtaining the eVisa in advance is safer. Spain is not on Burundi's short visa-exempt list (limited to fellow East African Community members: DR Congo, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda). Spanish ordinary passport holders therefore require a visa for a short tourist stay. Burundi's General Commissariat for Migration (Commissariat Général des Migrations) operates an official online visa application portal at migration.gov.bi, where travelers can apply for and pay for a single-entry tourist visa before departure. The standard single-entry tourist visa costs USD 90 and permits a stay of up to one month. A visa on arrival for the same USD 90 / one-month terms is also available at Melchior Ndadaye International Airport (Bujumbura) and at land borders, but applying online in advance is the more reliable choice and avoids being turned away. Burundi is in East Africa and is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for entry. Passports should be valid at least six months with a blank page.
