Egypt to Yemen visa requirements

Egyptian ordinary passport holders can obtain a visa on arrival in Yemen for short tourist visits, valid for up to 3 months, provided they arrive on a direct route from Egypt. A heavy "Do Not Travel" advisory applies due to the ongoing conflict. Egypt is one of only 11 nationalities Yemen grants a visa on arrival, which permits a stay of up to 3 months. A specific condition applies to Egyptians: they "must arrive from" Egypt (i.e. travel directly from Egyptian territory) to use the VOA channel. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months and travellers should carry proof of onward travel, an invitation or hotel booking, and supporting documents, as front-line immigration officers exercise wide discretion in the current environment. Yemen launched an eVisa system on 24 June 2025, but it is currently limited to organised tourist groups of 10 or more booked through accredited Yemeni travel agencies, so it is not a practical individual channel. The only visa-free entry is for Hong Kong SAR holders and people of Yemeni origin. Critically, Yemen is under a Level 4 "Do Not Travel" advisory (renewed 19 December 2025) due to armed conflict, terrorism, kidnapping risk and the breakdown of consular services. Holders of any Israeli passport stamp or visa may be refused entry. Because the situation on the ground is volatile and the VOA channel can be suspended without notice, travellers should confirm directly with a Yemeni mission before any trip and be prepared for a visa to be required in advance.
