Egypt to Thailand visa requirements
Egyptian ordinary passport holders need a visa for Thailand and must apply online for a Thai e-Visa before travel — visa-free entry and visa-on-arrival are NOT available to Egypt. Egypt is not on Thailand's visa-exemption list nor on its 31-country visa-on-arrival list. Since 8 October 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy in Cairo processes all Egyptian applications exclusively through the official online e-Visa platform (thaievisa.go.th). For a short tourist stay, Egyptians apply for the Tourist Visa (TR), which is single-entry, allows a stay of up to 60 days, and is valid for use within 3 months of issue. The fee is about 1,270 EGP (roughly 2,800 THB / USD 82). Processing is typically up to 10 working days, so apply about 4 weeks before departure (but not more than 3 months ahead). In addition to the visa, every traveler must complete the free Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online within 72 hours before arrival. A passport valid 6+ months with at least two blank pages, proof of onward travel, accommodation, and sufficient funds are required.
