Egypt to Togo visa requirements
As of 18 May 2026, Egyptian ordinary passport holders can enter Togo visa-free for up to 30 days as citizens of an African Union member state. No e-visa is needed, but you must complete a free pre-arrival online declaration on voyage.gouv.tg at least 24 hours before arrival and carry a yellow fever vaccination certificate. Togo overhauled its entry policy in May 2026. On 18 May 2026 the government announced, and on 26 May 2026 formally approved, a visa exemption for citizens of all African Union (AU) member states. Egypt is an AU member, so Egyptian ordinary passport holders no longer require a visa or e-visa for short tourist visits and may stay up to 30 days. Previously, all nationalities (including Egypt) had to obtain a Togo e-visa via the voyage.gouv.tg platform, as visa-on-arrival had been discontinued; that e-visa requirement no longer applies to African passport holders. The waiver is not unconditional: travelers must complete a pre-arrival immigration declaration on the official voyage.gouv.tg portal at least 24 hours before arrival to obtain a travel authorization that must be shown at the border. Standard immigration, security and health screening continues, and Togo strictly enforces a yellow fever vaccination certificate requirement for all arriving travelers. For stays beyond 30 days, an e-visa or residence permit is still required. Because this is a very recent change, travelers should confirm the policy and complete the online declaration before departure and keep proof of accommodation, an onward/return ticket and sufficient funds available for border checks.
