Egypt to Chad visa requirements

Egyptian ordinary passport holders need a visa for Chad. The recommended route is Chad's official eVisa (evisa.td), launched in December 2024 — a single-entry tourist visa valid for 30 days, applied for online before travel. A traditional embassy sticker visa from the Chadian Embassy in Cairo remains an alternative. Only diplomatic/service passport holders enjoy visa-free entry, not ordinary passports. An Egyptian ordinary passport holder is NOT visa-exempt for Chad. The bilateral visa waiver between the two countries covers only diplomatic and service passports (up to 90 days); ordinary passport holders must obtain a visa before travel. Since 11 December 2024 Chad has operated an official electronic visa platform at evisa.td, allowing eligible nationalities (including Egypt as a non-exempt country) to apply online, pay fees and receive the visa electronically. The standard tourist eVisa is single-entry, valid 30 days with a maximum stay of 30 days, at a fee of roughly USD 100-107. Applications should be lodged at least 7 days (and no more than 90 days) before arrival; processing typically takes several business days up to about 10. Travelers may alternatively obtain a sticker visa from the Embassy of Chad in Cairo. Visa on arrival is generally NOT available to Egyptians. Note Chad is in Central Africa and is NOT part of the Schengen area, so the 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. Yellow fever vaccination is required for entry, and all foreign visitors must complete police registration within 72 hours of arrival. Egypt's Foreign Ministry and several governments maintain serious security/travel advisories for Chad.
