Egypt to South Sudan visa requirements

Egyptian ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for South Sudan. Egypt is one of only four nationalities (with Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda) granted visa-free entry. You can travel for a short tourist stay without applying in advance, but you MUST carry a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate. As of 2026, South Sudan grants visa-free entry to ordinary passport holders of just four countries: Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. Egyptian tourists therefore enter without applying for a visa or an eVisa, and without paying a visa fee. The visa-free regime is described as open-ended (indefinite period), though in practice immigration officers admit visitors for a short tourist stay and may ask for proof of onward travel, accommodation and sufficient funds. Critically, South Sudan is a yellow fever endemic country: a valid International Certificate of Vaccination (yellow fever) is required at the border for all travelers aged 9 months and over, and must be administered at least 10 days before arrival. Passports should be valid for at least 6 months beyond the arrival date with blank pages for stamps. South Sudan is in East Africa and is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. The official eVisa portal (evisa.gov.ss) exists for the ~190 nationalities that are not visa-exempt; Egyptians do not need it. Always reconfirm with the South Sudan immigration authority or its embassy in Cairo close to travel, as South Sudan's security and entry situation can change.
