Egypt to Slovenia visa requirements

Egyptian ordinary passport holders need a Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa to visit Slovenia. There is no visa-free, eVisa, or visa-on-arrival option. Apply in advance at the Embassy of Slovenia in Cairo. Slovenia is a full member of the Schengen Area, so it applies the common EU visa policy. Egypt is on the EU list of countries whose nationals must hold a visa to cross Schengen external borders, meaning Egyptian ordinary passport holders cannot travel visa-free. For tourism or a short visit, an Egyptian traveler must obtain a Schengen uniform short-stay visa (Type C), which permits stays of up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period and is valid across all Schengen states, not just Slovenia. Applications are lodged in person, by appointment, at the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Cairo (for long-term residents of Egypt and nationals of third countries where Slovenia has no representation). The application must be filed no earlier than 6 months and, as a rule, at least 15 calendar days before the intended trip. Biometric data (fingerprints and photo) are collected and stored in the EU Visa Information System (VIS). The standard fee is EUR 90 for adults. ETIAS, the new EU travel authorization launching in late 2026, does NOT apply to Egyptian nationals because it is reserved for visa-exempt travelers; Egyptians remain in the full visa regime. Travelers should also note the EU Entry/Exit System (EES), which began operating in 2026 and registers entries and exits at the external border. Conclusion: a Schengen visa is mandatory.
