Egypt to Sweden visa requirements

Egyptian ordinary passport holders need a Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa to visit Sweden for tourism. There is no visa-free, eVisa, or visa-on-arrival option. ETIAS does not apply to Egyptian nationals. Sweden is a member of the Schengen Area, and Egypt is on the EU's visa-required list (Annex I). An Egyptian ordinary passport holder must obtain a Schengen short-stay visa (Type C) before traveling to Sweden for tourism or a short visit. Applications are lodged through VFS Global visa application centres in Cairo and Alexandria, or directly at the Embassy of Sweden. The visa is valid across the entire Schengen Area and is subject to the 90/180-day rule, meaning a maximum stay of 90 days within any rolling 180-day period. The standard visa fee is EUR 90 plus a VFS service charge of about EGP 942 (EUR 15). Processing typically takes about 15 working days, though applicants are advised to apply at least four weeks before departure and may apply up to 180 days in advance. The upcoming ETIAS travel authorization is only for visa-exempt nationalities and does not apply to Egyptian citizens, who continue to require a full Schengen visa.
