Egypt to Russian Federation visa requirements

Egyptian ordinary passport holders need a visa to visit Russia for tourism. Egypt is NOT on Russia's unified e-visa eligible list, so travelers must apply for a traditional tourist visa at the Russian Embassy/Consulate in Egypt before departure. A tourist confirmation/voucher (visa support) from a Russian travel agency or hotel is required. As of 2026-06-02, Egyptian citizens holding ordinary passports require a visa to enter the Russian Federation for tourism. Russia operates a unified electronic visa (e-visa) program, but its eligible-country list (set by the October 6, 2020 Government Decree and subsequently expanded to roughly 64 countries) does NOT include Egypt. Therefore Egyptians cannot use the convenient e-visa channel and must obtain a standard tourist visa through the Russian Embassy in Cairo or the Consulate General in Alexandria. The tourist visa is typically issued for up to 30 days, single or double entry, and requires tourist confirmation (a voucher and confirmation of acceptance issued by a Russian tour operator or hotel registered with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs), a valid passport (at least 6 months beyond the visa's expiry), a photo, and a completed application via the official kdmid.ru portal. Standard processing is around 10 working days. Russia is NOT part of the Schengen Area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. Because the e-visa channel is closed to Egyptian nationals and the consular route requires invitation/voucher documentation, the verdict is visa-required.
