Egypt to Mexico visa requirements

Egyptian ordinary passport holders need a visa to visit Mexico for tourism. Apply for a consular visitor visa at the Mexican Embassy in Cairo BEFORE travel. Exception: if you already hold a valid US, Canada, Japan, UK or Schengen visa (or permanent residence in those countries), you can enter Mexico visa-free for up to 180 days. Egypt is on Mexico's visa-required list, and Egyptians are NOT eligible for Mexico's SAE electronic travel authorization (which is limited to a small set of nationalities such as Russia, Turkey, Ukraine and Brazil). The standard route is a consular "visitor without permission to engage in paid activities" (tourist) visa, applied for in person at the Embassy of Mexico in Cairo. The application uses a paper/embassy process — it cannot be completed fully online — and typically takes 10-15 business days; apply 4-6 weeks ahead. The consular fee is roughly USD 56. The single most useful shortcut: Egyptian travelers who hold a valid multiple-entry visa for, or permanent residence in, the USA, Canada, Japan, the UK or any Schengen country may enter Mexico WITHOUT a Mexican visa for up to 180 days for tourism. On entry, all tourists also need the FMM tourist permit (Forma Migratoria Múltiple, ~MXN 983 / ~USD 53), usually bundled into air tickets. Passport must be valid for at least 6 months.
