Egypt to Moldova visa requirements

Egyptian ordinary passport holders need a visa to visit Moldova for tourism. The most convenient channel is the Moldova eVisa (short-stay C/T tourism visa), applied for online at evisa.gov.md before travel. Moldova is not in the Schengen area, so the 90/180 Schengen rule and ETIAS do not apply here. Egypt is not on Moldova's visa-exemption list, so an Egyptian ordinary passport holder must obtain a visa before traveling for tourism. Moldova operates an official electronic visa system (evisa.gov.md) through which Egyptians can apply for a short-stay C/T (tourism) visa entirely online, paying the consular fee by card and receiving the visa by email to print. The short-stay visa permits up to 90 days within any 180-day period. Egypt is among the nationalities for which Moldova normally requires an invitation letter (a tourism booking/itinerary or a host invitation) as a supporting document; however, holders of a valid (non-transit) visa or residence permit issued by an EU/Schengen state, the United Kingdom, the United States, or Canada are exempt from the invitation requirement and may, while that document is valid, even enter Moldova without a separate Moldovan visa. The consular fee for a C visa is EUR 40 (express processing carries a higher fee). Travelers should carry a passport valid at least 3 months beyond intended departure with 2 blank pages, travel medical insurance covering at least EUR 30,000, proof of accommodation, a return ticket, and proof of funds (at least EUR 30/day, minimum EUR 300). Moldova is NOT a Schengen member, so neither the Schengen short-stay framework nor ETIAS governs this entry; the Moldovan eVisa is the applicable authorization.
