Egypt to Lithuania visa requirements

Egyptian ordinary passport holders need a Schengen short-stay visa (Type C) to visit Lithuania for tourism. There is no visa-free, visa-on-arrival, or eVisa option, and Egypt is excluded from ETIAS because it remains a visa-required nationality. Lithuania is a full member of the Schengen Area, and Egypt is on the EU's list of nationalities that require a visa for short stays. An Egyptian ordinary passport holder must therefore apply for and obtain a Schengen Uniform Short-Stay Visa (Type C) before traveling. The visa permits tourism, transit, and short visits across all 27 Schengen states for up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period. Applications for Lithuania are lodged through the Lithuanian Visa Application Centre (operated by VFS Global) in Cairo or Alexandria, or at the Lithuanian Embassy in Cairo. The standard visa fee is EUR 90 for adults, plus a VFS service fee. Egypt-specific requirements include a Mogamma criminal-record/residence certificate for first-time travelers or those who have lost a passport. ETIAS, the EU's new travel authorization launching in late 2026, does NOT apply to Egyptians, since it only covers visa-exempt nationalities; Egyptians continue to use the traditional Schengen visa process. Travelers should apply no earlier than 6 months and no later than 15 working days before departure, and budget for processing of up to 45 days during busy periods.
