Egypt to Kuwait visa requirements
Egyptian ordinary passport holders need a visa before traveling to Kuwait for tourism. Egypt is NOT among the ~53 nationalities eligible for Kuwait's visa-on-arrival or eVisa, so a visa must be arranged in advance, typically through a Kuwaiti sponsor or the embassy. The main exception: Egyptians holding a valid 6+ month GCC residency permit can get a visa on arrival. As of mid-2026, Egyptian (EG) ordinary passport holders are visa-required for Kuwait and do not have access to its visa-free, visa-on-arrival, or open eVisa channels for tourism. Kuwait grants visa-on-arrival/eVisa only to a fixed list of roughly 53 nationalities (all EU states, UK, US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Turkey, and similar). Egypt is not on this list. Consequently, an Egyptian tourist must obtain a visit visa before travel, which in practice requires sponsorship by a resident/relative/company in Kuwait or processing through a Kuwaiti diplomatic mission. Kuwait launched a nationwide unified eVisa platform in July 2025 (after a temporary suspension in Dec 2024 that was lifted in Jan 2025), but eligibility for the self-service eVisa still tracks the same nationality list and does not extend an independent tourist channel to Egyptians without a sponsor. One important practical route: an Egyptian who holds a valid residency permit (with at least six months remaining) in any GCC country (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman) qualifies for a visa on arrival regardless of profession since the August 2025 reform. A passport valid for at least six months is mandatory, and Kuwait strictly bars entry to anyone with Israeli passport stamps or links. Because Egypt has no visa-waiver or VOA access for tourism, the conservative and correct verdict is visa-required.
