Egypt to Iceland visa requirements

Egyptian ordinary passport holders need a Schengen visa (Type C) to visit Iceland for tourism. Iceland is a non-EU Schengen member, and Egypt is on the visa-required list, so there is no visa-free, visa-on-arrival, or eVisa channel. ETIAS does NOT apply to Egyptians. Iceland is one of four non-EU EFTA members of the Schengen Area, so it follows common Schengen visa rules. Egypt is an Annex I (visa-required) nationality, meaning Egyptian ordinary passport holders must obtain a short-stay Schengen visa (Type C) before travel for tourism. The visa permits stays of up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period across the entire Schengen Area. The standard visa fee is EUR 90, with a separate VFS Global service fee in Egypt, and processing normally takes about 15 calendar days (apply up to 6 months ahead, and no later than 15 working days before departure). Because Iceland has no Icelandic embassy issuing visas in Cairo, applications are typically handled by a representing Schengen state via VFS Global. Importantly, ETIAS (launching Q4 2026) does NOT apply to Egyptian nationals because ETIAS is only for visa-exempt nationalities; Egyptians continue to need a full Schengen visa. Note the EU Entry/Exit System (EES) is now operational at Keflavik, recording biometrics on entry.
