Egypt to Guatemala visa requirements

An Egyptian ordinary passport holder generally needs a visa to enter Guatemala for tourism. There is no eVisa or visa on arrival, so a consular tourist visa must be obtained in advance. Important exception: Egyptians who hold a valid (or used) US, Canadian, EU/Schengen, or Mexican visa or residence permit may enter visa-free for up to 90 days, as Egypt is NOT on Guatemala's exclusion list for that exemption. Egypt is a visa-required nationality for Guatemala. By default, Egyptian ordinary passport holders must apply for a tourist visa at a Guatemalan diplomatic mission (no embassy operates inside Egypt, so applications are handled through the consulate accredited to Egypt). The visa is a paper consular sticker; Guatemala offers no eVisa or visa on arrival for Egyptians. Stays are typically up to 90 days and fall under the Central America-4 (CA-4) regional free-movement zone covering Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua. A significant practical exception exists: Guatemala waives the visa for up to 90 days within any 180-day period for holders of a valid visa or residence permit from the United States, Canada, an EU/Schengen member state, or Mexico. Crucially, Egypt is NOT among the nationalities excluded from this exemption (unlike, for example, neighbouring Algeria, Libya, Sudan, or Jordan-passport holders). Therefore an Egyptian with a current US, Canadian, Schengen, or Mexican visa can travel to Guatemala without a separate Guatemalan visa. Travelers without such a third-country visa must obtain the consular tourist visa before departure. Passport must be valid at least six months and proof of onward travel is required.
