Egypt to The Gambia visa requirements

Egyptian ordinary passport holders can enter The Gambia visa-free for tourism for up to 90 days. The Gambia grants visa-free entry to all African Union member-state citizens, and Egypt is an AU member. As of 2026, The Gambia operates a visa-exemption policy that covers all African Union (AU) member-state citizens, among other categories (ECOWAS, Commonwealth, EU/EFTA, UAE and Turkey). The Gambia's official Immigration Department documentation and its Feb 2026 published visa policy list "AU CITIZENS" as the first exempt category, with free entry for a maximum of 90 days. Egypt is a member of the African Union, so an Egyptian ordinary passport holder needs no visa for a short tourist visit and may stay up to 90 days. The Gambia is in West Africa (not the Schengen area), so Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules are irrelevant here. Travelers should still carry a passport valid for at least six months with blank pages, proof of onward/return travel, evidence of sufficient funds, and meet health/entry-screening requirements. A Securiport border-processing fee (about D1,000 / USD 20) applies to most arriving and departing passengers, and admission is always at the discretion of immigration officers at the port of entry. Yellow fever vaccination is required if arriving from or transiting a yellow-fever-risk country.
