Egypt to Finland visa requirements

Egyptian ordinary passport holders MUST obtain a Schengen short-stay (type C) visa before traveling to Finland for tourism. There is no visa-free, visa-on-arrival, or eVisa option. ETIAS does not apply to Egyptian nationals. Egypt is on the EU's visa-required list, so an Egyptian ordinary passport holder needs a Schengen type C (short-stay) visa to enter Finland for tourism. The visa allows stays of up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period across the entire 29-member Schengen Area, of which Finland is part. Applications are lodged in person at the VFS Global centre in Cairo (handling Finland's appointments) with biometrics collected at submission. The visa fee is EUR 90 for adults plus a VFS service fee; standard processing is about 15 calendar days but can extend to 45 days in peak season. ETIAS (Europe's travel authorisation launching late 2026) is only for visa-exempt nationalities and does NOT replace the visa requirement for Egyptians. Note: the EU Entry/Exit System (EES) launched in October 2025 biometrically records every Schengen entry and exit, so overstays are tracked automatically. A passport must be issued within the last 10 years and valid at least 3 months beyond the planned departure, with at least 2 blank pages.
