Egypt to Djibouti visa requirements

An Egyptian ordinary passport holder needs a visa for Djibouti and should obtain the official Djibouti eVisa online before travel. The short-stay (tourist) eVisa allows stays of 15-90 days; a cheaper transit eVisa covers 1-14 days. Egyptian ordinary passports do NOT qualify for visa-free entry (only Egyptian diplomatic, official and service passports are visa-exempt for up to 90 days). Djibouti is not visa-free for Egyptian ordinary passport holders. Since 18 February 2018, Djibouti has operated a government electronic visa (eVisa) system through the official portal evisa.gouv.dj, and Egypt is among the eligible nationalities. Travelers apply online, upload a passport biodata scan and a digital photo, pay the government fee, and receive an electronic visa to present on arrival. The eVisa is issued for tourism or commerce. Two main categories exist for short visits: a Transit eVisa valid for 1-14 days (government fee around USD 12) and a Short-Stay eVisa valid for 15-90 days (government fee around USD 23). Official processing is roughly 72 hours, but travelers are advised to apply about two weeks before departure. The eVisa is primarily designed for air arrivals at Djibouti-Ambouli International Airport; land and sea border crossings can be more restrictive and may require an embassy-issued visa, so air entry is recommended. Passports must be valid for at least six months from the date of arrival and have at least two blank pages. Note that many third-party websites charge substantial service mark-ups on top of the modest government fee, so applying through the official government portal is the cheapest and safest route. Because government sources confirm visa exemption only for non-ordinary Egyptian passports, ordinary passport holders should treat the eVisa as mandatory and not rely on visa-on-arrival.
