Egypt to Canada visa requirements

Egyptian ordinary passport holders need a visitor visa (Temporary Resident Visa / TRV) to enter Canada for tourism. There is no visa-free entry, no visa-on-arrival, and no eTA option for Egyptian nationals. Egypt is a visa-required country for Canada, so an Egyptian ordinary passport holder must obtain a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) before travelling for tourism. The eTA is reserved for visa-exempt nationalities and is not available to Egyptian citizens. Applications are filed online through the IRCC secure account; applicants aged 14 to 79 must give biometrics (fingerprints and photo) at the VFS Global Visa Application Centre in Cairo or Alexandria. The government fee is CAD 100 for the TRV plus CAD 85 for biometrics (CAD 185 total). Most TRVs are issued as multiple-entry visas valid up to the passport's expiry (or up to 10 years), allowing stays of generally up to 6 months per visit at the border officer's discretion. Processing typically takes a few weeks but should be started 2 to 3 months ahead. Approval depends on demonstrating strong ties to Egypt, sufficient funds, and genuine intent to leave Canada.
