Egypt to Botswana visa requirements
Egyptian passport holders need a visa for Botswana and should apply online for an eVisa before travel via the official portal at evisa.gov.bw. Egypt is not on Botswana's visa-exemption list (which covers roughly 100 jurisdictions granted up to 90 days visa-free). Egyptian ordinary passport holders therefore require a visa for tourism. The recommended route is Botswana's electronic visa (eVisa), introduced in August 2021 and processed through the government portal evisa.gov.bw, which lets visa-required nationals apply entirely online without visiting an embassy. A single-entry tourist eVisa typically costs around BWP 300 and is processed in roughly 7 to 14 working days. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months with at least three blank pages, and travelers should carry proof of onward travel, accommodation, and sufficient funds. Egyptians visiting multiple southern African countries may alternatively use the KAZA UNIVISA where eligible. Apply well ahead of departure to allow for processing.
