Egypt to Azerbaijan visa requirements

Egyptian ordinary passport holders need a visa before traveling to Azerbaijan. Egypt is NOT on Azerbaijan's ASAN e-visa eligible list and is not visa-exempt, so you must apply in advance through the Azerbaijan MFA online system (visaapplication.mfa.gov.az) and/or the Azerbaijan Embassy in Cairo. As of 2026, a holder of an ordinary Egyptian passport requires a visa to enter Azerbaijan for tourism or a short visit. Although Azerbaijan operates the popular ASAN e-visa (evisa.gov.az), Egypt does NOT appear on the official list of e-visa eligible countries, and Egypt is not in Azerbaijan's visa-free list for ordinary passports. (Note: third-party visa-agent websites incorrectly claim Egyptians can use the e-visa and quote inflated fees of USD 65-115; these are not reliable.) The correct, conservative route confirmed by Azerbaijan's own diplomatic mission in Cairo is a sticker/consular visa obtained in advance. Applicants submit an application via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs online portal (visaapplication.mfa.gov.az) and, where required, lodge documents with the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Cairo (Maadi). A single-entry tourist visa permits a stay of up to 90 days; the published consular fee for a single entry is USD 20, with multiple-entry options up to 2 years available at higher fees. The passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond the visa's validity, with two blank pages, biometric photos, and travel medical insurance. Processing for embassy-lodged applications can take around 10 working days, so apply well ahead of travel. Azerbaijan is NOT in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. Diplomatic and service passport holders have separate visa-free arrangements and are out of scope for this ordinary-passport guide.
