Do Germany passport holders need a visa to visit Taiwan?
Germans get 90 days visa-free in Taiwan; no online pre-authorization required, just a valid passport and onward ticket. German passport holders enjoy 90 days visa-free entry to Taiwan as tourists or for short business trips. Taiwan has no ETA/eTA system. Passport must be valid for the duration of stay, with onward/return ticket required. EVA Air operates MUC-TPE and FRA-TPE; China Airlines also serves FRA-TPE. Other German travellers can connect via Amsterdam, Hong Kong, Bangkok, or Doha. Extension to 180 days is possible from National Immigration Agency (NIA) field offices for NTD 1,000. Work, study, journalism, and longer stays require an appropriate ROC visa (visitor/resident) from TECO Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt, or Munich.
