Germany to Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) visa requirements

German ordinary passport holders can visit Taiwan visa-free for up to 90 days. No ETA/eTA is required, but the free online Taiwan Arrival Card (TWAC) is mandatory before arrival, and the passport must be valid for at least 6 months from entry. German ordinary passport holders can enter Taiwan visa-free for visits of up to 90 days, including tourism, visits to friends or relatives, short business meetings, exhibitions, fact-finding, social events, and similar activities that do not require a separate permit. Taiwan does not require an ETA/eTA for Germans, but since October 1, 2025 foreign visitors entering with a visitor visa or under the visa-exemption program must submit the free online Taiwan Arrival Card (TWAC) within three days before arrival; the paper arrival card has been replaced. A German passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of entry, and travelers must hold a confirmed return or onward air/sea ticket, plus any visa required for the next destination. The 90-day period starts on the day after arrival and is not extendable for German passport holders; the UK/Canada extension exception does not apply. Longer stays, residence, work, study, or any activity requiring official permission require the appropriate Taiwan visa or permit before travel. Visa-free entry is available at Taiwan's international airports and listed seaports, including Taoyuan, Taipei Songshan, Taichung, Kaohsiung, Keelung, Hualien, Taichung Harbor, Kinmen Shuitou, Matsu, and Kaohsiung Harbor.
