Do Germany passport holders need a visa to visit SB?

German passport holders do NOT need a visa for short tourist visits to the Solomon Islands. As an EU national you are granted a free Visitor's Permit on arrival, valid for stays of up to 3 months within any 12-month period. Germany is on the Solomon Islands' visa-exempt list (all EU member states except Ireland have been visa-exempt since an arrangement that took effect on 7 October 2016). German tourists are not required to obtain a visa in advance. On arrival at Honiara (Henderson International Airport) or another port of entry, the immigration officer issues a Visitor's Permit free of charge. The permit allows a stay of up to three months in aggregate within any twelve-month period and can be extended for up to a further three months on special justification. To be granted the permit you must hold a passport valid for at least six months beyond your intended departure with blank pages, show a confirmed return or onward air ticket, demonstrate sufficient funds for your stay, and hold any onward visas required for your next destination. Because no visa, eVisa, or fee is required and the permit is granted automatically to eligible EU travelers, this route is best classified as visa-free for short tourism. The Solomon Islands are NOT in the Schengen area; however, the country does recognize Schengen documents under its EU arrangement. Travelers who do not meet the standard conditions, or who plan longer stays, paid work, or research, must contact the Solomon Islands Immigration Division in advance.
