Do Germany passport holders need a visa to visit AO?
German ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa to visit Angola for tourism. You may enter visa-free for up to 30 days per entry, capped at 90 days within any 12-month period. Since Presidential Decree No. 189/23 (29 September 2023), Angola exempts nationals of around 98 countries — including Germany and most of the EU — from the tourist visa requirement. German ordinary passport holders may enter Angola for tourism and private visits without any visa or pre-arrival e-visa, staying up to 30 days per entry and a maximum of 90 days per calendar/12-month year. The German Federal Foreign Office confirms that only a valid passport is required on entry. The exemption is for tourism (and, in practice, short business visits) only; work, study, or residence still require an appropriate visa obtained in advance. A passport valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay with two blank pages is expected, and travelers should carry a yellow fever vaccination certificate, which is required for entry to Angola. There is no fee for visa-free tourist entry.
