Do China passport holders need a visa to visit TD?
Chinese ordinary passport holders need a visa for Chad. The easiest route is the Chad eVisa (online system launched in December 2024 via the official portal evisa.td); a traditional embassy visa is the alternative. Chad does not grant visa-free entry to Chinese ordinary passport holders, and China is not on Chad's short list of visa-exempt nationalities. Since 11 December 2024, Chad has operated an electronic visa (eVisa) system through its official government portal (evisa.td), which replaces both the old consular process for many applicants and the previous visa-on-arrival arrangement. Chinese tourists should apply online for a short-stay eVisa before travel, or obtain a traditional visa from a Chadian embassy/consulate. The eVisa is typically valid for 90 days with stays up to 30 days (commonly issued single-entry; multiple-entry options exist at higher tiers), and standard processing is around 10 business days, so apply at least two weeks ahead. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory for entry to Chad, and all arriving travelers must register with police within 72 hours of arrival. Travelers should use only the official portal to avoid third-party markups.
