China to Qatar visa requirements

Chinese passport holders may enter Qatar visa-free for eligible short visits of up to 30 days under the China-Qatar mutual visa exemption agreement. Chinese citizens holding valid Chinese passports are covered by the China-Qatar mutual visa exemption agreement that entered into force on 21 December 2018. The Chinese Embassy in Qatar states that Chinese citizens travelling to Qatar for short-term purposes such as tourism, business, family visits, or transit may stay for no more than 30 days without a visa. Work, residence, journalism, study, and other activities requiring prior approval or longer stays must be handled under Qatar's relevant procedures before travel or through the competent Qatari authorities. China NIA's 2025 mutual-exemption list also records Qatar for diplomatic, service, special, public-affairs, and ordinary passports with a 30-day stay. Visit Qatar describes Qatar's current 'visa-free entry' terminology as the successor to the old visa-on-arrival wording and notes that visitors should hold a passport valid for at least 3 months from arrival plus confirmed accommodation. Eligible Chinese visitors do not need to buy a Hayya A1 tourist e-visa for the 30-day visa-free route; Hayya remains the official platform for visitors who need an e-visa or whose travel falls outside the visa-free conditions. Health insurance covering Qatar is recommended by Visit Qatar and may be needed in visa or extension workflows. Qatar is outside the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules do not apply.
