Do China passport holders need a visa to visit QA?
Visa-free 30 days for Chinese tourists since 2018 unilateral arrangement. Chinese passport holders can enter Qatar visa-free for up to 30 days per stay (extendable once for another 30 days). Qatar introduced unilateral visa-free entry for 88 countries including China in August 2017 as part of efforts to boost tourism and break diplomatic isolation. The visa waiver allows multiple short visits within a 6-month period (combined total 90 days maximum). During the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Qatar issued the Hayya Card system which remains operational alongside visa waiver. Travel must be for tourism, business meetings, family visits, or transit. Qatar Airways operates direct flights from Beijing/Shanghai/Guangzhou/Chengdu/Chongqing to Doha Hamad International Airport (DOH) — Qatar Airways' Doha hub is a major Chinese transit point to Africa/Europe. Work, study, and stays over 30 days (or extension) still require regular Qatari visa from the Qatari embassy in Beijing.
