Do China passport holders need a visa to visit PL?
Chinese ordinary passport holders need a Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa to visit Poland for tourism. There is no visa-free, visa-on-arrival or eVisa option, and ETIAS does not apply to Chinese nationals. Poland is a full member of the Schengen Area, and China is not on the EU's visa-exempt list. A Chinese citizen holding an ordinary passport must obtain a Schengen Type C short-stay visa before travelling to Poland for tourism. The visa is applied for through Poland's authorised service provider VFS Global in China (centres in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu and other cities), with the application assessed by the Polish Embassy in Beijing or the relevant Consulate General. The standard adult fee is EUR 90 (about RMB 700), plus a VFS Global service charge, paid in RMB. A valid Schengen visa allows a stay of up to 90 days within any 180-day period across the entire Schengen Area, not just Poland. The upcoming ETIAS travel authorisation (launching late 2026) applies only to visa-exempt nationalities and has no effect on Chinese travellers, who continue to need a full Schengen visa. As of 2026-05-30 this requirement is confirmed unchanged.
