Do China passport holders need a visa to visit MA?
Visa-free 90 days for Chinese tourists since 1 Jun 2016 under bilateral agreement. Chinese passport holders can enter Morocco visa-free for up to 90 days for tourism, business, family visits, or transit. Morocco unilaterally waived visa requirements for Chinese citizens effective 1 June 2016, becoming the first North African country to do so. Morocco does not require reciprocity from China (Moroccan citizens still need a Chinese visa). This decision was driven by Morocco's tourism diversification strategy and growing China-Morocco trade including Renault-China automotive supply chains. Royal Air Maroc operates direct flights from Casablanca (CMN) to Beijing (PEK) since 2019. Most Chinese travellers also connect via Doha, Dubai, or Istanbul. Travel must be for short-term purposes — work, study, journalism, and stays over 90 days still require a visa from the Moroccan embassy in Beijing or consulate in Shanghai. Visa-free entry covers all major Moroccan destinations: Casablanca, Marrakech, Fes, Chefchaouen, Tangier, Rabat, Essaouira.
