China to Kenya visa requirements

Chinese ordinary passport holders need an approved Kenya Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) before travel. Apply only through etakenya.go.ke or the official app; no eTA is issued on arrival. Chinese ordinary passport holders are not visa-free for Kenya. Since January 2024, Kenya requires visitors, including children, to obtain an approved Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) before travel unless they fall under a listed exemption. The current Kenya eTA exemption list does not include ordinary People's Republic of China passports; it only exempts Chinese diplomatic, official or service passports for stays not exceeding 30 days. Apply through the official portal etakenya.go.ke or the official Kenya Travel Authorisation app, preferably at least 2 weeks before travel and at minimum 3 working days before departure. A standard eTA allows one entry, is valid for travel within 90 days from issue, and the permitted stay is set by the immigration officer at the port of entry, commonly up to 90 days for visitors. The Kenya portal lists the standard eTA from USD 30, while China Consular Service currently lists the single-entry eTA fee as USD 32.50 plus bank and processing fees; the final total is shown at checkout. Passport validity of at least 6 months after planned arrival and at least one blank page is required.
