Do China passport holders need a visa to visit GM?
Yes, you need a visa. Apply at a Gambian diplomatic mission before you travel. Chinese ordinary passport holders require a visa to enter The Gambia for tourism. China is not on any of The Gambia's visa-exemption categories (which cover African Union, ECOWAS, Commonwealth, EU/Schengen/UK/Switzerland, Nordic/Baltic/Balkan states, UAE and Turkish nationals, plus tourists on chartered flights). The recommended route is a single-entry Tourist Visa (GMB1) obtained in advance from a Gambian embassy, High Commission or consulate. The Gambia's immigration law also permits visa-on-arrival at gazetted ports (e.g. Banjul International Airport) for nationals from countries without a Gambian diplomatic mission, but official airport guidance currently names only France, Portugal, Spain and the USA for arrival visas, so Chinese travelers should not rely on VoA and should secure a visa before departure. A passport valid 6+ months with two blank pages, return ticket, hotel booking and proof of funds are required. A yellow fever certificate is required if arriving from an endemic country, and a US$20 Securiport fee is collected on both arrival and departure.
