Do China passport holders need a visa to visit GE?

No visa needed. Chinese ordinary passport holders can enter Georgia visa-free for tourism under the China-Georgia mutual visa exemption agreement: up to 30 days per stay, and no more than 90 days within any 180-day period. As of 2026, holders of ordinary Chinese passports do NOT need a visa to visit Georgia for tourism or short stays. This is governed by the mutual visa-exemption agreement between China and Georgia for holders of ordinary passports, which took effect in China on 28 May 2024 and is reciprocally applied by Georgia. Under the agreement, a Chinese ordinary passport holder may enter, exit, and transit Georgia visa-free for up to 30 days per single stay, with a cumulative limit of 90 days within any 180-day period. The exemption covers tourism, short business trips, family visits, and transit. It does NOT cover residence, employment, study, journalism/media work, or any activity requiring prior authorization, nor stays exceeding the 30-day single-entry / 90-day cumulative limits, for which an appropriate visa or residence permit must be obtained in advance. Travelers should hold a passport valid well beyond the intended stay (six months recommended), and immigration officers may ask for proof of onward/return travel, accommodation, and sufficient funds. Independent of this bilateral agreement, Georgia also maintains a broad unilateral visa-free list and an eVisa system, but for Chinese ordinary passport holders the bilateral exemption is the operative basis for visa-free tourist entry. Always confirm current rules with the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs / consular portal or the Chinese Embassy in Georgia before travel, as bilateral arrangements can change.
