Do Canada passport holders need a visa to visit NA?

Canadian passport holders now need a visa for Namibia. Since 1 April 2025 Canada lost its visa-free status, but Canadians can get a Visa on Arrival (NAD 1,600) at major ports of entry, or apply for the same e-Visa online in advance through the Ministry of Home Affairs portal to skip queues. As of 30 May 2026, Canadian ordinary passport holders require a visa to enter Namibia for tourism. Canada was one of 33 nationalities that lost visa-free access on 1 April 2025 under Namibia's new reciprocity-based visa policy. The standard route is a Visa on Arrival (VOA): travelers can apply and pay at designated ports of entry (Hosea Kutako International Airport, Walvis Bay, and main land borders) for NAD 1,600 (non-African travelers). Namibia strongly recommends applying online in advance for the same e-Visa on Arrival via eservices.mhaiss.gov.na to avoid queues. The visa permits a stay of up to 90 days within a calendar year, is issued as multiple-entry, and requires a passport valid at least 6 months with at least 3 blank pages. The e-Visa is typically issued immediately on payment; manual processing is quoted at up to 48 hours. There is no Schengen relevance — Namibia is in southern Africa and is not part of the Schengen area or ETIAS.
