Visa-free entry covers tourism only; business, study, work, or stays longer than 30 days require an appropriate visa or registration. Anyone staying more than 30 days must register with Mongolia's immigration authority (the Office of Immigration, Naturalization and Foreign Citizens) within 48 hours of arrival. Border officers make the final entry decision, so funds, accommodation details, and a clear travel purpose should be available if asked.
