Do Brazil passport holders need a visa to visit GH?

Brazilian ordinary passport holders need a visa for Ghana. As of 25 May 2026, the recommended route is the new official eVisa applied for online before travel at evisa.immigration.gov.gh. Visa-free entry and standard tourist visa-on-arrival are not available to Brazilian citizens. A Brazil (BR) ordinary passport holder traveling to Ghana for tourism requires a visa. Ghana is not in the Schengen area and offers no general visa-free or visa-waiver arrangement for Brazilian ordinary passport holders (only Brazilian diplomatic, official and service passport holders are visa-exempt). On 25 May 2026 the Ghana Immigration Service launched its official electronic visa portal (evisa.immigration.gov.gh), which is now the recommended way for non-African nationals such as Brazilians to obtain a single- or multiple-entry tourist visa before departure. The eVisa is applied for online, paid for in USD, and delivered by email. Standard processing is about 96 hours, with faster paid tiers available. A single-entry tourist eVisa typically allows a stay of up to about 30 days, with the visa valid for around 3 months from issue. Travelers must also carry a yellow fever vaccination certificate, which is mandatory for entry to Ghana. African passport holders now enter for tourism/business without visa fees, but this does not extend to Brazilian (non-African) passport holders, who pay the standard fees. Because the system is newly launched and fees are high, applicants should rely on the official portal and the Ghana Embassy in Brasilia for confirmation and apply well ahead of travel.
